THE SPANISH MOVIE “LA TRIBU – THE TRIBE” WINS AS BEST FILM THE 15Th MONTE-CARLO FILM FESTIVAL DE LA COMEDIE
A GREAT SUCCESS FOR THE MOVIE COMEDY KERMESS HELD BY EZIO GREGGIO
This has been a great edition of the Monte-Carlo Film Festival de la Comedie directed by Ezio Greggio. The Jury, chaired by the two time Oscar winner Claude Lelouch and composed Nancy Brilli, Valeria Solarino and the critic Nick Vivarelli, decided the Palmares: the award for best film goes to the Spanish Film ‘La tribu’’directed by Fernando Colomo, film starring a cleaning lady with a passion for street dance who thanks to her dancing skills finds love for his son. The film also wins recognition for best actress to Carmen Machi. The award for best director goes to Armando Iannucci for the already appreciated ‘Death of Stalin’ with Steve Buscemi and e Jeffrey Tambor, a comedy set in the days immediately following the death of the Soviet dictator. Best actor to the Italian Nicola Nocella (also nominated for the next David di Donatello prize), starring in “Easy” – directed by Andrea Magnani- in which Nocella plays the role of a former F1 pilot entrusted with the task of bringing a coffin with the body of a mason from Italy to Ukraina. Special jury prize goes to ‘Brad’s Status’ directed by Mike White with Ben Stiller, for his script “strong and complete”.
Besides, this evening at the Grimaldi Foum in Monte-Carlo during the Ceremony Gala the director Ezio Greggio will give The Monte-Carlo Awards to Nicola Piovani, Paola Cortellesi, Gabriele Muccino, Riccardo Milani, Maria Grazia Cucinotta and to the stars Travis Fimmel and Rachael Taylor, starring in the world premiere “Finding Steve McQueen”.
