AT MONTECARLO FESTIVAL COMMUITS THE ISRAELI COMEDY MAKTUB
BETWEEN TERRORISM AND THE WISH OF HAPPINESS, TOMORROW ARRIVES TRAVIS FIMMEL
It moves and entertains ‘Maktub‘, one of the three films in competition presented today at the 15th Montecarlo Film Festival directed by Ezio Greggio, the most important European show entirely dedicated to comedy. The film tells the story of two criminals who are the only survivors of a terrorist attack in a restaurant in Jerusalem. An event that drastically changes the way of understanding the lives of the two who then decide to become angels in flesh and blood and to fulfill all the wishes written on sheets of paper and set among the sacred stones of the Western Wall. Directed by Oded Raz, director of the hit series ‘Galis’ and starring two successful TV characters in Israel, Guy Amir and Hanan Savyon, the film touches crucial chords in contemporary affairs trying to treat it in comedy form and is one of candidates for the victory of the prize that will be awarded by the jury chaired by Claude Lelouch and also composed by Nancy Brilli, Valeria Solarino and Nick Vivarelli. Tomorrow will be the day of the arrival in Monaco of Travis Fimmel, the actor of ‘Vikings’ who will present the world premiere of “Finding Steve McQueen”, the highly anticipated film out of competition directed by Mark Steven Johnson and also starring Rachel Taylor .
